(page 13) Arrived in Massachusetts Bay on June 24, 1635. Saided from Darmouth
in Devonshire, May 1 of the same year.
(page 13) "Memorandom. We came from Providence with our ffamily to Dwell
at Newport in Rhode Island the 19th of November, Thursday in afternoon & arrived
ye same night Ano. Domina 1651. Memorandom. My father and his family Sett
Sayle ffrom Darmouth in Old England, the first of May, friday & Arrived In New
England. June 24 Ano 1635. Memm. We came to Providence to Dwell the 20th of
April 1636. per me Bennedict Arnold." (son of William) (page 14) In the fall
and winter 1635, they met with Roger Williams and others, his friends then
planning a new settlement, aboandoned plans of there own partially made, joined
forces with him, and so became among the first settlers and proprietors of
Providence.

He came to Salem, MA, in Governor Endicott's company in 1629, and with his
brother Francis and four others settled in Lynn, where they were the first
settlers. Once he was fined "for bringing home sticks in both his arms on the
Sabbath day." In March, 1648, while travelling to Boston on horseback, he was
drowned in the Saugus river owing to a defective bridge. His will was proved
September 18, 1648.

Massachusetts, in 1635.

Wessagussett at the time that the passengers of the Mary and John landed at
Nantasket.(30 May 1630) "Through the great disease and decay of old age" he
made his will 2 Oct 1688.

(page 1025) John Holbrook was born in England and was captain at Weymouth in
1624.

(page 268) He was made a freeman 13 May, 1640 (Register, 3: 187); selectman,
1648 and 1656; deputy from Weyumouth, 1651,1664,1669,1671,1672,1673; Captain in
King Philip;s War, 1676. He resided in "Old Spain" "Being weak of body" he
made his will 12 July 1699. Will was proved 14 Dec 1699. He deposed that he was
45 years of age or thereabout, 22 apr. 1667.(Suffolk Court Files, 815).
